Activate Waterford


Activate is Waterford City's newest and most innovative family recreation centre incorporating a children's soft play area, bowling, rock climbing and bouldering, an intimate state of the art 3D cinema, a cafe and lots more.

It has been designed with adults, teens and children in mind and being fully wheelchair accessible aims to support and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle for everyone…without having to rely on the weather!!

We are locally owned and family run. Our friendly, motivated team at Activate look forward to welcoming you to come along and challenge yourself to something new...

Travelled to the sunny southeast, but sadly the sun did not shine....we were recommended to try activate and it didn't disappoint. There was something for us all to do under the one roof....play frame, bowling, bouldering, big kids (8&9yo) loved the rock climbing camp, Rachel is an awesome instructor. Even the big kid (dad) broke loose with Nerf wars!!!! Pizzas were yummy and a great way to finish our day out. It's a treat to have the 6 of us entertained and fed but it's well worth it, read more

We had our son's birthday party today at Activate and it was amazing from start to finish... all the younger kids went to soft play area whilst the older went on the climbing wall ,the instructors were amazing... we had fabulous pizza and chips and went on to mini golf... a great day all round... amazing staff and services (Source Facebook)

I held my kids birthday here at the weekend, and from beginning to end the service which we received was top class. The staff were extremely attentive, nothing was a bother to them. Having a party of 15 kids is a huge under taking but Activate Waterford made it as stress free and relaxing and a truly enjoyable experience. In my opinion, this is a well run establishment, that caters fantastically for kids ensuring they have the best time here! Hats off to management- an incredibly well run place! We will be back.

Had my daughters party there yesterday found the staff to be very friendly and very helpful when it came to getting the kids sorted for skating. The food was great value and all the kids ate every last bit and all said it was great fun. I have to say I can only speak about our experience I would recommend Activate Waterford. My little sister had her 9th birthday party out here recently, they went roller skating and wall climbing and they all had a ball! I had my son with me is 1 so wasn't taking part in the activities, so we wasn't on the list to be paid for or for food or anything like that, they told me we could bring him into the play area for free and also gave us extra food and ice cream servings for him which I thought was very thoughtful! Always a pleasure visiting activate with any of my 3 kids. They range from age 1 to 11. Something for all of them to do. Had a few of their birthday parties here too and they went amazing. Staff are so friendly and special mention to Eleanor who always goes above and beyond in greeting the kids and making sure they're enjoying themselves.
